This beach is really a large sea water lake landlocked from the Atlantic ocean by fine sand. It is very popular with families of small children as there is no tide to deal with and at one end it is shallow enough for paddling in. The other deeper end of this lake is ideal for those learning to windsurf and kite surf. The school for these two sports is close by and has beginners courses and equipment to hire. There are two rather rustic restaurants serving fresh fish dishes.
