Performed by six samba schools and two groups of axê, (a musical genre that emerged in the state of Bahia in the 1980s during the popular demonstrations of the Carnival of Salvador) with about 1300 elements, the procession travels about a kilometer to the sea, and is a guarantee of lots of color, music and animation through the streets of the village.

Preparations begin several months in advance and involve hundreds of volunteers. People of all ages dedicate their free time to retouching costumes, finalizing props, perfecting choreographies and dance steps, and tuning voices and instruments.
